Join the J.H. Picard School Council!
The J.H. Picard School Council is made up of dedicated parent volunteers who care a lot about our school!
We support the school administration to effectively support student learning. It is a group of parents, who team up with the school administration to make our school the best it can be! We work together to support everyone's well-being and help the school community succeed. Being part of the School Council is a great way for everyone in our school community to talk about education and school-related matters and for parents to get involved and partner in their child's education.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the AGM.
Any parent or guardian who would like to sit on the School Council Executive for the 2024/25 school year is welcome.
The time commitment is as much or as little as you have to offer.
A diverse range of views and backgrounds enhances the effectiveness of our School Council, so please consider adding your voice.
The School Council meets regularly throughout the year, hosts guest speakers, holds Q&A sessions with the administration, and communicates with parents and guardians through email, PowerSchool and social media.
School Council's goal is to:
- Educate parents and assist them as key partners in their student's education at JHP.
- Inform parents with what is happening at JHP and how it affects their student.
- Engage parents and assist them in advocating for their child(ren).
